Wooden Sock Ruler Measure, Sock Knitting

Description

This sock rule has measurements for up to 30cms/12inches. It measures approx 6cms wide, 34.5 cms long in total and is made out of 3mm thick birch plywood. The smooth ends and sanded wood are perfect for measuring your socks and won’t catch or snag.

The plain sock ruler is blank at the top, and the personalised option allows you to put your own text there, for example “Lydia’s Sock Ruler”. If you choose the personalised option then please keep an eye on your Etsy messages as we will send you a drawing for you to approve before we can cut your order. We aim to do this within 48 hours of you placing your order.

There is a small hole in the top of the ruler, which is perfect to either put on one of our rings (available on a separate listing) or a length of yarn to hang, or simply to hang as it is!

As with our blank shade cards and project cards, you can also write on these! Why not keep track of the sock sizes of those you are making socks for by simply noting this information on the back! We recommend using a ball point pen like a biro for the best result. Alternatively if you don’t want to keep this record longer term then you could use a pen like the Frixion Erasable pen which uses friction to erase. We have also found that this ink is erased by heat and so by carefully using an iron (maybe with a teatowel in between!) and lightly touching it to the wood, this ink will then be removed and you will have a blank canvas to start again on. Whilst you can lightly see where the text was previously, this doesn’t impact on you being able to write on this again.

Sourcing Birch Plywood has become increasingly challenging, which has meant that we have had to find an alternative supplier. We have been very fortunate that we have been able to source high quality Birch Plywood which meets our needs and high standards. The wood however is from a different area, which means that it is a darker/warmer colour than that pictured on our stock photos. Therefore, please be aware that the item that you receive may look slightly different in appearance to our stock photos, but please be reassured that this in no way impacts the product. Please see the last photo to see the comparison between our previously stocked wood and our new/currently stocked wood. You may receive either of these as we transition to the new wood, but if you buy a set of items (for example a set of month buttons), then we will ensure that these are cut from the same wood.
